About Coach Carrie:

Carrie is an independently licensed psychotherapist and coach. She has experience working in a variety of settings including hospitals, community mental health, residential, the Iowa National Guard, Drake University, and private practice psychotherapy. 

She completed her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Northern Iowa with a major in psychology and a minor in sociology. Following her undergraduate work, she completed her graduate work at Iona College in New Rochelle, NY earning her Master of Science in marriage and family therapy.

She has completed training in EMDR therapy with years of experience practicing it with great results. EMDR is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma, anxiety, etc.

In her therapeutic stance Carrie likes to think holistically and make sure to pay attention to the connection between mind/body/spirit. Her eclectic approach to healing has roots in Rogerian Client-Centered Therapy and Systems Theory, often pulling from cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based skill sets. She believes in every human's capacity to heal and grow with the right combination of hard work and support.
